Pine Cones in DB

We used to pick pine cones when we travelled overseas, and looked out specially for giant ones! Here in DB, we found some pine trees and brought Elkan to go hunting for pine cones. Here are some good finds which we have placed them under our Christmas tree!

Christmas Get-together @ ho-me

As we will be going away for a vacation, we had an early Christmas get-together with some good friends in DB. The adults played some 'serious' boggling games, while the kids sat together to make a ginger-bread for dessert! Then we all tucked into some good food prepared by Shan Lei.

Thank You Lord, for a good 2009. We commit 2010 into Your hands!

SIS Fair

The Singapore International School held a Christmas fair and we were there to 'see see look look'! All the students spoke English, although with some kind of slang... most parents speak either Cantonese or English. Could hear some Singaporeans around! Overall it's a good fair. Hmmm.... still not sure where Elkan will go for his primary school should we continue to stay in HK.....

Anyway... here's Elkan and his first rock climb. Eshai seems to enjoy walking along it too!

Eshai Walks!!!!

We were at the Singapore International School's fun-fair, inside Ah-bor's office when it happened today. Patrick called for Eshai and he walked on his own for about 1.2m to reach for him. Po-po, Patrick, Shan Lei and Elkan were all there to witness it. Thereafter we tried to shoot a video of him walking, but he did not manage the feat again....he even refused to stand. Good start, Eshai, but next time must let us shoot video ok?!?

Office Christmas Party

Patrick's office had a Christmas Party on Friday. He dressed up as mafia with a tattoo, a machine gun, a cigarette, a hat and an overcoat. It was good fun! And of course with this kind of charisma, he attracted the company of 2 beautiful cheongsam-clad ladies!

Blanket Play

What do you do when it's cold??? Yes, you hide under the blanket! And that's what Patrick and Elkan like to do (and play)! Check them out... and they were joined by Shan Lei and Eshai shortly. Eshai seemed to have picked up the fun as well! Yeah!

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

It is Patrick's birthday today! We had a simple celebration last night. Simple it may be, but it is filled with ho-mely love!! It is so heart-warming to hear 3.5 years old Elkan say "Happy Birthday Daddy!", followed by a kiss and hug!

Can you guess why there are 3 candles on the cake? So how old is Patrick? And so why 3 candles only? The answer shall be reviewed shortly.....

Standing Tall

Taken tonight... these pictures show Eshai standing up! That's all he is doing for now. He's not taking any steps forward unless he's got something to hold on to. It looks like it won't be long before he starts walking! Bravo, Eshai!

Little Boss

We were in town after church on Sunday, and Patrick took the boys to his office to rest, while waiting for the rest of the family. Elkan slept through visit, so he did not take any pictures. Eshai was supposed to nap, but he was wide awake. And so he got to play around in the office!

The King & The Prince

The two brothers playing around the high chair. Elkan acts as the high and mighty king while his little brother, who could only manage to stand by and watch, settles as the prince beside him! It's always nice to see them playing together...

Weather's been colder lately, so the two of them are wearing warm clothings!

Flying Kiss

Eshai has started 'signing'! The picture on the left was taken tonight and it shows him responding to us when we say 'Flying Kiss'! The way he does it is really cute... almost like smacking his whole face! He will master it well as he does it more often! :)

Eshai knows how to sign 'Bye Bye' too! And he's practicing it every morning when Patrick goes to work!

We hope to teach him to sign 'Thank you' and 'Please'... so that he can use them to communicate with us! Elkan used to use them quite a bit. (See Elkan in action here)

Master Chefs

Check out the 2 boys 'cooking' up a storm at ho-me! Our boys do have a feminine side of them huh! Well.... in future they will have a way to their girls' hearts through the stomach then!

It's interesting to see Eshai growing up and enjoying toys now!

Winter Finally Came!

It's been a warm October/November... so there wasn't any cool autumn this year. Then suddenly... there was a cold monsoon wind blowing down from the north and winter suddenly and finally came! It hit us real hard and the temperature went down to below 10 degress celcius where we live (outlying islands).

And here's Eshai amused by the gloves and caps put on him! And He kept fidgeting with them!

LKF Carnival Toys R Us Photo Contest

We were at the Lan Kwai Fong carnival and chanced upon the Toys R Us photo contest. Since we took 2 pictures of the kids, so we decided to give the contest a shot. Patrick edited the photos and posted them on Facebook. We would need to garner as many 'likes' for the photos to win the contest. So if you are a facebook user, please click on the photos below to go to the facebook page and LIKE the pictures (both of them). Do also click on the SHARE button to tell your friends to vote for us. Cheers and thanks!

The winner gets to win HK$3000 worth of toys. There will also be 10 consolation prizes. Let's hope we win something for the children!

If Eshai wins, this will be his very first of many wins in life. We did a search and realised that Elkan has won his first prize back in April 2007. Wow!

Discovery Bay's Picnic in the Park 2009

"Picnic in the Park" is all-day music, arts and dance festival held at our town. It is annual community event, apparently mostly by the community for the community. Local talents will go on stage to perform. The community will sit around the park watching the performances and there were games and stalls all over. Now... we were there and enjoyed the atmosphere! It was really hot right after noon when we were there, but it got better around 4+ and more friends joined us. The park was packed by then....

Transformers: Elkan Prime vs MegaEshai

Transformers landed at our ho-me! And we have got Elkan Prime (a decendent of the Autobots and a disciple of Optimus Prime) and MegaEshai (a descendent of the Decepticons and a disciple of Megatron) pitting against one another! For now... the fight is constraint within the picture. But a few years down the road, the boys would have grown bigger and will want to put on the toy armour and fight it out. Hmmm.... we wonder how it will be like then! We are sure the day will come when the next part is released in the theaters!

Our Walking iPod

Taken last evening when Elkan was ONE year old. This video showcase Eshai's new found skill to push-&-walk with something. Seeing Eshai learning to 'walk', it's really time to say goodbye to BABY Eshai... and welcome TODDLER Eshai. We will miss you, BABY! Gotta treasure all these moments....

Thank you to Mel for the iPod jumper. It makes him "A Walking iPod"!

Elkan: "Prayers To Share"

Let Elkan teach you thanksgiving as you watch him read the book "Prayers To Share".

Kids these days are really smart. It's amazing how well Elkan reads at 3 years old. This is probably what Patrick could only do when he was 8 or 9? Aiyoh... so pai-seh!
